Unexpected Bargains

   Posted by: yun    in Uncategorized

Today, while shopping at Belk, I spotted a pair of flat dressy shoes. They match the dress I have in mind and seem to be reasonably priced.

At check-out, I was charged only half of the listed price. Turned out there was an additional 40% off of the listed price.

Neato! Unexpected bargains are always the sweetest.

Gap in the Teeth

YY has lost two teeth at the front. Usually, a gap in the teeth gives one a clownish look; yet it seems so endearing on YY.

Restaurant and Home

XF has eaten out quite a bit lately. Now that he’s used to the flavor and taste of restaurant style food, here’s hoping that he won’t find home-made meals lack in taste.

Chilly

It’s rather chilly today. Almost seems as if it was going to snow. When I took a walk out, I was breathless from the wind beating against my chest.

MM must have missed daddy very much during the day. When XF goes to pick her up after work, she dashes towards him, like a little ox heading for a piece of red cloth.

Greed

The orchard charges $12 for each bag of apples you pick. So we tried to stuff as many apples into the bags as they could hold to get our money’s worth. When we got home, I found that a lot of the apples were squashed–they’d been pressed against one another too hard.

Greed doesn’t pay.

Apple Picking

Last Sunday, we went apple picking in North Georgia with some friends. We went to the B J Reece Orchard, to be more exact.

As we filled our bags with apples, someone commented that this reminded him of the days back in China, when each working unit would distribute some oranges and/or apples to its employees during the harvest season.

Careless

This afternoon, while trying to cut the labels off of one of my shirts, I accidentally nipped off part of the shirt itself. Could have given myself a slap in the face for having done that.

Oh, well. What’s done is done.

Sometimes, I just hate myself for being so careless.
