Toilet-Training

   Posted by: yun    in Uncategorized

Ever since MM started to go to the Pre-3 room, the toilet-training front has suffered serious setbacks. Each day, she would bring home a bag of wet clothes. I keep my fingers crossed that these accidents are just temporary. Pretty soon, she would grow out of them.

Self-Discipline

“Mom, can I do my Chinese homework upstairs? That way, I won’t be distracted by these things.” YY said, pointing at the marbles on the dinner table.

One of the most rewarding parts of being a parent is that you grow with your kid. Each day, you see them acquire qualities that they didn’t have before, such as the ability to exercise self-discipline. You are the first-hand witness of a growing process that often leaves you surprised and in awe.

One Profession A Day

The other day, when YY declared that she wanted to be an archaelogist when she grew up, I was amused by the serious look on her face. She has been hooked on books about Egypt and Greek for the past few weeks.

Kids, of course, can afford to change their mind about what they want to do. Time is on their side.

Peach Blossoms

   Posted by: yun    in Uncategorized

Our peach tree was in full bloom the other day. XF asked me to take a picture of it. “It won’t last for ever.” he said, “Better capture it on the camera while we can.”

Today, after 2 days of thunderstorm, most of the flowers on the peach tree have fallen to the ground, just as XF predicted. From a distance, the ground looks as if it had been painted pink.

Beauty comes only in fleeting moments. Be sure to seize it before it is gone for good.
